Kiss Nail Dress

One of the items I received in my Love Voxbox (from Influenster) was Kiss Nail Dress. It was sent to me for free to test out and review.

Quoted from Influenster.com
"Introducing Kiss Nail Dress, ultimate nail fashion for tips and toes! Just peel, apply, and shape for a manicure that lasts up to 10 days. On in minutes, off in seconds without remover. Nail Dress is available in 18 different styles, many of them featuring 3-dimensional jeweled designs. Check out Peplum, a deep black with multi-colored gems for a pop of color, or Babydoll, for a golden and glamorous jeweled look. Skip the topcoat, Nail Dress has it built in. With 28 strips in each package, you can cut up your extras to create designs that can be used on top of polished or artificial nails. Nail Dress doesn’t dry out the way other polish strips can, so you can save them to use on your next DIY mani. A nail design booklet is included in each package, just in case you need a little inspiration. And don’t forget about your feet! Nail Dress looks awesome on toes, too – just use the square side of the sticker for a perfect fit."
Surprisingly enough, my nails kept "chip" free for a week! It wasn't until moving day that my nails started to come undone. If it weren't for the move, my nails probably would have lasted a few days long. Now, I know it says that the top coat is built in, but I felt I needed to add an extra top coat of my own. I wasn't sure if the edge would cause it to peel up, so I felt adding a top coat over it and over the tip would help it last longer. I do believe that is the reason they lasted a full week.

I must say that I was quite impressed with this product. It was a little annoying to apply the strips to my nails, but the result was well worth a little annoyance! I should add that it wasn't nearly as annoying as trying to apply a perfect coat of polish! Honestly, I will more than likely be purchasing this product again in the future. If you would like to purchase this product, please take a look at what was posted on Influenster(below)!

Where to Buy
Nail Dress’ suggested retail is $6.99 and is available in all major drug chains and mass retailers like WalMart, CVS and Walgreens.

There will be at least one post about the Love Voxbox, but more than likely there will be 2-3. :)

First of all, I have to say that the packaging is just ADORABLE! I think they're perfect for holiday stocking stuffers or along with a little beauty basket for someone.I think any girl would be excited to receive something so cute and easy to use like this! One of the greatest things about this product is that it gives you a chance to have beautiful nails for a short period of time if you can't normally have them. Whether you bite your nails or have a job that requires you to keep short nails, you can still have beautiful nails for special occasions or any other time you please!

I applied these nails on December 27, 2011 at 6:00 PM. Applying the nails takes very little effort and barely any time at all! What I did was first lay out my nails that I was going to use, and then I used the prep pad to cleanse my fingernails. I started with my pinky fingers and worked my way across, making sure I applied the thumb nails last as the directions said to. I made sure to press FIRMLY as well. According to the packaging, these nails can last up to a week, but I can't imagine that they actually last that long. My first nail fell off 5.5 hours later, but I decided to leave the rest on just in case it was due to a user error. To my surprise, the second nail did not fall off until the following night at 7PM. Again, I decided to leave the rest on just to see how long they'd last. About 2.5 hours later a third nail fell off. It was at this time that I decided to remove the rest since they weren't feeling as secure as the previous day. Honestly, I think the rest of the nails just may have lasted a little while longer since a couple of them were a bit difficult and uncomfortable to remove. I think next time I'll use the tip on the package that suggests using nail polish remover around the edges!

I have to be honest, when I first saw this item I was not excited at all. When I was a child, I received a press-on nail "salon" for Christmas, and it was quite the disappointment. However, I have to say that this product has definitely changed my mind about press-on nails! I can't wait to try out the different designs and colors. :) Oh, and not to mention the fact that everyone thought they were my real nails! These are definitely a must buy!

NYC New York Color

The second item I'll be reviewing from my Holiday Voxbox is New York Color Liquid Lip Shine. For more information on what a Voxbox is, please visit http://www.influenster.com.com

The color I received is Nude York City. It's a beautiful color, and it looks gorgeous on. You can see what it looks like on me in the picture above (upper left corner). The shine it gives off is amazing. It looks like it has tiny pieces of glitter throughout it, but there isn't a gritty feeling all over your lips. It doesn't stay super shiny for a long time, but it does keep some shine and it's actually moisturizing (a surprise to me! I had doubts). It's a little tacky, but it's not very sticky, AND it smells pretty amazing. The only complaint I have is the applicator, and that's just because I dislike how flexible it is.

NYC Liquid Lipshine comes in TEN different shades! Oh, and did I mention the suggested retail price is only $2.49?? This product is DEFINITELY worth checking out! I plan on picking up a few shades, if not all of them (I certainly could since they're not pricey at all!).

*From Influenster.com "Straight from the city that never sleeps, NYC New York Color offers products with uptown style at down-to-earth prices, from $.99 - $4.99. The energy, style and color of New York City shines through the wide range of shades, textures and innovative products. NYC always delivers the most on-trend products & shades hot off the runway!

A beauty-editor favorite is Liquid Lipshine ($2.49). It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias. Start shopping for NYC at these stores nearest you: Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, Duane Reade, Kmart, HEB, and others. "

Larabar!

One of the items I received in my Holiday Voxbox from Influenster was a Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Larabar. If you have no idea what Influenster is, you can check out my previous post OR click the following link for more information: http://www.influenster.com.

When I was reading about this product, I was excited to try it. There are only 2-9 ingredients in each bar, and they're just fruits, spices, and nuts! Not only are they made with natural ingredients, but there are also 19 different flavors to choose from! The only downside there seems to be is the fact that every flavor seems to be made with dates. For more information and to view all flavors available, please visit their website, http://www.larabar.com.

Now, I can't say that I had the best flavor experience with my Larabar, but I'm partially blaming that on the fact that I'm not a huge peanut/ peanut butter fan. The bar wasn't that bad, but I probably won't be eating the peanut butter chocolate chip kind again. The weird aftertaste didn't help it any, either. However, I WILL be purchasing more Larabars in the very near future! There are so many yummy sounding kinds that I'm dying to try, like Key Lime Pie, Banana Bread, and Blueberry Muffin.

I strongly suggest checking out their website! It's easy to navigate and you're greeted by some super cute penguins! Not only that, but they have a sweepstakes going on that I'm sure you'd love to enter! :)
